I just took a moment to reflect on all the cool adventures I’ve been on so far in 2016, a nice little reminder of the bright spots in an otherwise wonky year.
And with the start of a new month, I thought I’d look ahead, too – give myself the nudge I need to keep making the most of my time and keep those adventures coming. Gotta have something to Instagram, right?
I’ve got a family day at the Museum of Science and Industry planned this month, and a bridal shower for one of my wonderful cousins. Aside from that, I’m looking at a fairly open August before the crazy of the Festival season really kicks in.
There are about a million street fairs and festivals still waiting to happen before Summer departs for good. I’m eyeing the Chicago Hot Dog Fest, the Chicago Air & Water Show, Taste of Greektown, Fest Italiana and Taste of Lincoln.
I recently became a member at the Art Institute of Chicago, so I’d like to try checking out their new exhibit, Master Drawings Unveiled. And I’ve been meaning to get to Steppenwolf to see Between Riverside and Crazy, which closes this month.
Mid-month, there’s a free concert presented by Broadway in Chicago in Millennium Park – showtunes, city skylines, what more could a girl want? I kinda want to go just to see if they’ll surprise the crowd with a number from Hamilton.
I’m not saying I’ll make it to everything on my list, but it’s nice to have a few things to look forward to.
